We have worked with SQL Server since version 7 using it for our own product development and interfacing into client systems.

We are currently using SQL Server 2005 and are taking advantage of the many new features and high performance.

We have done considerable work with all aspects of alerts and notifications in SQL using both the native components (Notification Services) and our own custom mechanisms.

 

The availability of SQL Express as a FREE product makes the transition to SQL very easy for those sites which have not yet taken the plunge. The upgrade from Express to the full SQL product is completely transparent and can be accomplished within hours.
